No, we have no idea how to pronounce coautchouc either. Still, that hasn't stopped the Spaceleader from winning things like the iF Product Design Award 2010, the Good Design gong from Chicago's Athenaeum Museum, and an honorable mention from Red Dot. Which counts for something, apparently. Only 2,012 examples will be made, and although they'll cost more than a Casio, they should go for less than $4,000. Here's the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, kitted out to compete in GT3 class racing. If we can't indulge in a little car porn now and then, what's the point? Here's the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, kitted out to compete in GT3 class racing. There's a whole heap of carbon fiber involved, especially concerning the aerodynamic treatments. Dig that big rear wing. The fenders have been flared to make way for wider racing tires. In keeping with GT3 rules, the engine is largely the same as the production 6.2-liter AMG V8 that makes 563 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. The engine is set lower in this car and is connected to a six-speed sequential racing transmission that turns a carbon fiber driveshaft. This customer racecar should be competing next year. Can't wait to see it. Can't wait to hear it.
